TV turnoff week.
For unrelated reasons, I'm going to be spending 16 days away from the computer.
Setting aside all considerations of programming,
Four Arguments for the Elimination
of Television exposes the threats inherent in the very technology of
television, all of which inhibit our ability to relate to the natural world.
The same arguments probably apply to computer monitors. I've been trying
to spend at least one day/week away from the computer--keeping holy the sabbath,
so to speak. I usually feel better after a day offline. I wonder how I'll
feel 2 weeks from now.
How do you feel?
