Some would say the afternoon went from
bad to worse--after the arrest in our
posh
bamboo-and-parachute tent the first
of a series of dust storms came and threatened to blow away everything we'd
spent the last day and a half building. Instead, we cheerfully improvised
a humble bunker whose low ceiling and cool gloom saw us through the rain,
heat, and dust of the remaining desert afternoons. |
