is they both came around
to cats in a big way. buk
had 5 ("10 beautiful eyes
looking at me") and burroughs
wept when he thought of his
kansas kitties suffering in the
event of a nuclear holocaust.

i felt the fleeting calm of a parent
knowing the children are safe
in play and will likely remain
so until bedtime, which got me
thinking it really is all just day
to day, sunup to sundown,
