I try to be optimistic, really I do.
I try to see the glass as 1/10th full
but lately it's been looking 9/10ths
empty no matter how hard I squint.

More epic weather in Seattle. I'd
never seen the posters blown off
a telephone pole before. When I
walked by later the bottom one

had torn loose so I took it home—
a consolation prize in the global
climate change
lottery. And polar
bears drown
. Where's Noah now?

Perhaps Lockheed-Martin's got a
big rocket to evacuate the elite or
maybe Halliburton is building cities
underground, the sky painted on, a

last ditch oneway elevator trip down.
