 Celebrating their 15th anniversary and closing in on their 1,000th
performance, Uz Jsme Doma is
turtling across North America again, playing 35 cities in 40 nights. Nils
of Sleepytime Gorilla Museum says, "These guys
are touring monsters!" And they are. One moment, we dance jerkily and with
great joy to the musical equivalent of a camel stampede. The next, we stand
transfixed as the band leads us hypnotically into the catacombs of imagination,
each note the flicker of a candle guiding us through the dark. Their Seattle
show this time was way better than
last
year's--they've mastered the material on their almost operatic new release,
EARS, and it was this new stuff that moved us most. It's some of the most
creative music out there, ripped straight from the id and engineered to
