car-free prayer flags,
a new twist on an ancient concept
|
I never quite "got" what
prayer flags were about until I silkscreened this
banner at Peter Bevis's crosswalk fundraiser and
hung it on Steve Anderson's car-free HQ.
The repetition of the pictogram is reassuring and
reinforces the idea that cities where cars are
obsolete are not only possible, but necessary.
Change can happen quickly. All that's needed is a
desire to change.
Awakened consciousness is the first step to
positive action.
I hope that these prayer flags and the other work
represented at thinksmall.org
will trigger people to really consider--and
change--their automotive habits.
Fuck cars. |
