I'll warn
you right now: today starts
and ends with plastic. Most days do.
Alarm clock, toothbrush, OJ jug...
the list goes on. Here we see an
artifact of ongoing Sino-American
exchange: plastic wrap in plastic
bubble that held the plastic
homieTM
we bought for 50 cents at grocery
store. I was hoping to get the one
featuring a guy holding an M-16
in front of American flag but got
instead a man kneeling in prayer
at foot of wooden cross. Both seem
to portray a similar impulse: a
simple faith inspired by fear.
