The Seattle Central Public Library is very
TALL
inside. Looks to be about 60 feet from floor to top of
steel and glass lattice facet. There's a small
Fare Start cafe in
the lobby. Ben, Noel and I warmed our hands around some cups of coffee after
we salvaged
life
itself from cold concrete planters of former bank plaza being turned
over into very narrow condominium highrise. New residents will have commanding
views of the library, some office workers will lose theirs. I ate a spinach
and cheese croissant, then a chocolate one as we watched the library shopkeeper
roll out the
modular
store on tracks embedded in floor which he then covered with metal
plates which fit snugly in the slots. It was clean, quiet, and
warm. |
