There's a shit ton of grass to cut
here. It's pretty much a fulltime job. By the
time you get to the end you have to go back to
the start. I haven't even gotten to the end yet
because the grass way out back is about 2' tall
and there are woody tree-like weeds twice that
high which need to be chopped with big shears
that look like bolt-cutters. Today I flushed
this rabbit --kind of my namesake if you
consider it zverina, or game--out of a
tall patch I was about to mow. When I moved on
elsewhere, it ran back for cover so I decided to
let that area grow. I do the same for
wildflowers and yellow dandelions so the bees
have somewhere to go. I feel a little bad about
cutting the grass so do what I can to preserve
some habitat. |
