For Halloween I was myself, plus the addition of 12 bloodied squares
of toilet paper to my face. Many weren't sure if it was a costume or not,
including one hulking man with shaved head who seemed to be fishing for a
fight. At Eric and Rachael's vegan cupcake party, Eric talked much about
Japan. Only later did I begin to suspect the topic had been triggered by
my costume--the little white squares with a red circle in the middle of each
reminiscent of Japanese flags. Linda
