When we saw
this little unit shredding at Paia Bay I was
sure radio controlled surfing must be the next
big thing. I asked a random sunbather if it was
common and he said, "No, that's just Hugh. He's
big in the RC community and designs sets for
movies." I wanted to approach the man himself
but he was talking to a young blonde model in
bikini, advising her to go into fashion styling
for film. There's more future behind the
camera than in front of it, he explained,
