          i don't know about God, but the international folk art museum
             in santa fe displays the tendency of people to
              create in their own image. the grand
           girard collection is a dense delight,
         if a bit euro/colonial-centric, but
     what else would you expect from
a touristic (as opposed            
 to anthropological)
   approach? girard
    himself designed
   the exhibit and it
 rewards careful inspection with subtle
whimsies, such as the lovers in the upper
right corner. the tramp art show
was inspiring and it was cool to
                                  see some
                                space given
                                to urgent
                                issues.
