Today
was a long one--measure, cut, stack,
assemble pressure-treated 2x6 in home
stretch of completing a 12'x12' deck.
Seen from a low angle, this lumber
becomes monumental, made me think of
Margaret Bourke-White's inaugural LIFE cover
story. Fort Peck Dam
will probably outlive anything I've
built, but then nothing lasts forever.
