| It's interesting how two forces in opposition can meet to lend each other support. That's the principle behind an arch, and it found human embodiment this Memorial Day as US veterans and Iraqi emigres and refugees gathered to break ground on Al-Mudhif, the first structure of its kind to be built outside the Mesopotamian Marshes. A mudhif is a place of hospitality and reconciliation. While politicians seek power by sowing division, we grow stronger by coming together. |  |
