I'm
just here to help Sarah. I've heard it takes
more effort to say no than yes, and
that's how I'm choosing to live while I'm here.
What's the point of complaining,
feeling put out, or hesitating? Confronted with
the vast and baffling potentials of
infinite possibilities, there's comfort in the
purpose provided by a problem with an
obvious solution. When Sarah lost her phone, we
were disconsolate at first. But
once she located it with her iPad, there was
nothing for me to do but drive down
to Wilmington and hope it would still be
there--which it was, face
down in the
gutter, miraculously unscathed from when it
flew off the truck's bumper. I texted
her a picture of the phone, but it basically just
went from my one hand to the
other.
