Shot this from the hip in Volunteer
Park on the
way back
from walk
to the bank.
Crows are so
casually dominant here that one friend's toddler
would yell, "Caw, caw!" at every bird she saw,
be it pigeon, gull, or something less common.
I grew up associating birds with song, but for
her they all
just squawked. The common image of crows is
scavenge
mode, perched on dumpsters or pecking open
pilfered
potato chip bags, so it was nice to almost
accidentally
capture this reminder that they're really quite
majestic. |
