i've
seen ghost
towns livelier than the Albuquerque "sunport"
this desolate
tuesday afternoon, more skeleton staff than
passengers haunting the depopulated
concourse. security was like a party no
one showed up for, places carefully set but no
guests at the patdown banquet, the corrals and
chutes bereft of flesh, we bypass the rope
labyrinth, ask a yawning agent if there's
been an apocalypse, perhaps a hack that's making
planes crash? they beep my ID and laugh.
"nope--it's just slow." >
