what is a dream, what is real? the
nicest way to say goodbye to seattle is by
ferry. it's never exactly the same twice, and
this morning was especially
ethereal, a
mythic crossing from
one life to the next. at least that's how
it felt as we begin to explore a shift to country
living. we're looking for a fixer-upper no
one in their right mind would touch and we found
one right off the bat, a mish-mash of a house
abandoned mid-remodel. i've never seen someone
put a partition wall in the middle of a window,
but at least they cared enough to insulate it.
can't beat the location, though, just across the
road from boat launch and public
park. tide
was out but we put in
anyway, pushed
and portaged until we hit the deep
green water.
