i like to see
how many days
in a row i can go
without driving.
but today i had to
return to Babylon:
drop sarah off at ferry,
get some materials, and
stock up on food at costco.
i'm as american as they come!
what a vast and inefficient system,
so much energy expended to provide
food and shelter. shopping scratches
hunter/gatherer itch but i feel sort of
ridiculous filling
up a cart. like, is this
all there is to
civilization? is there space
for an internal life? i drove home
in the rain.
