sometimes you just have to vent.
cutting exploratory hole in roof
released a blast of hot moist air
as if i'd disturbed a dragon's lair.
the shingles do resemble scales
and i stood astride its spine with
dagger in a scabbard at my side.
but our workshop is a fair beast
and i came not to slay but aid. i'd
been fretting & putting it off and
we both breathed easier after.
