visiting
friend leroy bought a couple of tickets to
diminished
men and dengue
fever at the
crocodile
but opted out last minute because going to shows can
feel like work. he offered his to me and i
accepted it,
tho' a little reluctantly because most venues
now are
borderline hostile--TSA style security
shakedowns,
austere interiors, concrete floors, and
nowhere to sit.
i
don't mind walking, but standing in one place
hurts
my back so first thing i did was scope the
venue and
sure enough there wasn't a stick of furniture, not
even
a barstool. the only exception was a lone chair
behind
the merch table of the opening band. luckily,
they're
friends of ours and i volunteered to staff it while
they
played. to its credit, the new
crocodile has great sound,
clear and full but not overly loud. it was
a good show!
we cut out early to catch a bus but our timing was
off
so we walked the whole way back, which was for the
best as i'd been sitting on my ass for hours anyway.
