i love public libraries! as a kid i'd go with a pocketful of change and make baseball card collages on the platten of the copier, ten cents per print, black and white only. at 14, my first job was shelving and repairing books at hempstead public library, which i did until i became a lifeguard at 16. reading is like swimming--total immersion--and i relish the serendipity of finding a book that speaks to my religion. p.s. aquatic PoD printout being on top was total coincidence! |
