last stop, all off, watch the closing doors Studio 711-A has been home and workspace to artists for longer than I've been in Fremont. Its "Garden of Everyday Miracles"--a weedy slope populated by castoff TVs and computers--has served as backdrop for almost as many slackjawed tourist snapshots as the Troll. But soon the big purple doors will be permanently closed, the garden will be uprooted, and Circus Contraption will have to find a new place to practice. The developer claims the new prefab luxury apartments will be "artist friendly," but how amicable can they be when one of Fremont's most enduring and endearing art installations is to be replaced by a parking garage?
