Everyone gets scared sometimes.
Guinness, on the other hand, is scared all the time. So he takes refuge beneath
tables or behind chairs. If others are present in the kitchen, he has to
be dragged or pushed past them and out the door, no matter how urgent his
need. I've been visiting John and KT for years, but except for a couple of
rare moments of clarity, Guinness always cowers and hides from me. The only
time he seems well-adjusted is when they get him outside into wide open spaces.
Then he romps and frolics and you could swear you see him smiling. Inside,
he's fearful and jumpy. Outside, he's happy and carefree. Have you ever felt
that way? Do
you know what I mean? |
