yesterday,
the rains came back. needed a tarp to cover all the bikes in our yard--flats,
rusty chains, waterlogged seats peeling once supple leather covers. the usual
mess, the fruits of excess. went with
chrystya on her lunchbreak to Fred Meyer, the Northwest's
version of K-Mart, Wal*Mart, Target, etc., distribution center for Chinese
imports, the slavish machine. C. bought me a tarp, 8x12, for 8 bucks, to
replace the one I lent still covering unused backseat for her van in her
backyard. I drifted to electronics, needing to
replace my camera, came across an Argus, Chicago-based manufacturer since
1936, Dave B recently bought a medium format of that brand for $7 at ValueVillage
(thriftstore subsidiary of Wal*Mart), and the receipts roll out of registers
like Rapunzel's hair. In America it's bad form not to mention how much you
spent. So, 50 dollars later, I have a new camera, a

Phazer, low end but high concept, the pistol grip is perfect for while
I'm still in this cast. I haven't pulled it on any cops yet, but when I do
you can bet it'll be my last picture. It shoots jumpy video, too, but nothing
that can compare to
ArtSpots, coming
soon to a TV near you... |
