In the annals of record collecting, this basement is kind of famous.
It's the disorganized overflow of "RECORDS" in Sacramento, whose
logo was drawn by R. Crumb. It smelled terrible down there. They say
it's batshit but it could just as easily be ratpiss. Perhaps a combination
of both? It takes dedication to sift through the rank musty stacks of LPs,
posters, pictures, and 45s, but I hung in there and came away with a few
reasonably priced 7-inches—James Brown, Clarence Nelson, Rick James, etc.
The store is moving soon so I count myself lucky to have dropped a deuce
in the employee can downstairs. It was a vivid experience I won't soon forget.
