Well, we all have to start out somewhere. Judging by the bird on dad's head, I'm guessing this sunbleached little boy lives here. Lucky kid. Langston Hughes famously asked, "What happens to a dream deferred?" One option he neglected to mention: It eventually comes true. That's how I feel today after landing on Maui for a three-month stay. Not to sound greedy, but even 92 days doesn't seem like enough. Waiting at arrivals for our pick-up (thanks, Steph Miller!) I watched the departing planes with sadness, knowing that all too soon one of them will be ours. But with island time on our side I hope to live a whole new life till then. It's never too late to begin again. |
