Making a feature-length film is unlike anything else I've attempted. Shooting was piecemeal and improvised without a script. The story only started to come together in the editing, stitched together from disparate scraps in the hopes of creating the illusion of continuous time and space. I was nervous the first time I watched a complete rough cut but came away convinced. Tonight I upped the stakes by showing it to a few select sympathizers at a friend's event space. It held attention and the laughs came in the right places—encouragement enough to push it through to the end. |
