In a very serendipitous turn of events, we
were able to swap homes with one of
Sarah's Philadelphia colleagues who is spending
the next few months in Seattle. We're
inhabiting the 2nd and 3rd floors of her Wharton neighborhood duplex.
This is the view
from where I've set up shop, passage of time
marked at regular intervals by neighbor's
smoke breaks. The streets are flat and littered,
no trees visible from this perch, no takers
at suction cup birdfeeder despite today's glorious
spring weather. I walked to post office in
much tidier Passyunk, already thoroughly
gentrified. But just wait, this nabe is on its
way.
