I'm in Philadelphia to help
Sarah fabricate some of the 17 distinct art
installations she's constructing at
sites all across the Delaware
River watershed, aka Lenapehoking (website coming soon?). She's
already
built a couple without me, but today marked the
beginning of my involvement with a site visit to Petty
Island,
an interesting place to start. Led by avid birder
Cari
Wild, I toured potential locations for the
three 8-foot long
benches we're building next week, most likely
along the shore where on a clear day I'm told the
city skyline pops,
but under today's pall of fog it could've been the
hazy past, when the tallest structures were still
smokestacks.
