Today
started as a vast improvement on yesterday,
sun so bright I went shirtless and seared my skin
pink,
set up shop outside on Petty's
Island,
Philly skyline in the distance, sistered
16-foot 4x4s to make stout posts for Gateway Park build, overkill
if you ask me but who am I to question the
structural engineers who signed off on it? Everything
was fine until the clutch pedal went wonky on
the way home, barely made it back to parking garage
after stalling out repeatedly in city traffic.
There's more to this project than its mechanics, but
for now my focus is pretty narrow and close. But
isn't that always the case--the end result is magic,
but behind the scenes it's nuts and bolts, in this
case more literal than most. |
