"man with sign ahead" warns the sign.
have you hugged a flagger
today?
once again reminded of neurath--
what is this figure shoveling?
we move at such speed in
tunnelvision of routine we
need ample warning to open
our eyes lest we smash
into an object the size of
a clydesdale, otherwise
invisible because it's
not supposed to be
there. but what does
supposed to mean?
driving reduces
everything outside
the vehicle to a blur,
abstract as images
on a screen. i
prefer walking,
a chance
to feel, breathe,
and see.
