pacific northwest summers are tough to beat
and i got mine today with a long bikeride to
seward park to confront hisham at tennis.
the courts there inexplicably have
one side fenced low. after losing
a few balls in prickly weeds, we relaxed in shade and watched a well-meaning granny blind her ward with sunblock spray as a beater van outfitted as ersatz ice cream truck played christmas carols in surreal juxtaposition to the heat. rode uplake from there along a bumpy ass trail to J dock to meet sarah and jackie for a swim. had to cut that short to get back in time to conduct a maintenance inspection of our building. too hot to ride uphill, the 27 bus obliged.
