back in my RE Store
days, i salvaged literal
acres of hardwood floors, but this is the first
time i've actually tried installing reclaimed
t&g
oak. it's a lot of extra work to sort, trim,
route, denail,
and clean up used boards
which, having
been sanded
and refinished
to varying
thickness, results in a less than
perfectly flat surface. it doesn't
make sense from a time
or dollar perspective,
but it's better than
letting good material go
to waste, and if you can live with a
slightly
flawed floor, at least they're pre-finished.
