| it's
a short walk to the mailbox, but enough time to
think about ice 9, how crystals follow a
growth pattern established by a single seed. i think of silicon, 2nd most common
element on earth, and the difference--if
any--between mineral intelligence and human
sentience. if everything is alive, then nothing
dies, not even when it melts. it just changes shape and size. |
