Buster Simpson is the Ai Wei Wei of Seattle--a worker who imbues his art with political statements, getting a foot in the door with seductive surfaces that upon closer inspection reveal an appeal to one's conscience or a call to action, some as simple as providing chalk and the prompt to make a statement on the sidewalk, as I did here on Bell Street, where the message makes sense to those who brave the uphill climb. |
