opaque to clear,
white sky,
we heard trees remind
someone of cracks,
fell through ice
and it was the time.
a big deal, sarah & i,
how sweet
shuffled across
Lake Hennepin
ig no ra nt

we walked on water,
an adjustment of danger
to step outside.
a shrug, and merely
startled by the sound,
the weight of knuckles,
the wind, crack and pop,
toed frozen bubbles. |
