| We're in a fight for our lives. Or at the very least a way of life. The crackdown on immigrants and refugees is not merely about xenophobia, it's the set-up for a full-on police state. ICE raids with the infamous Nazi refrain "You have your papers?" exploit vulnerable populations as preamble to curtailing the civil liberties of all Americans. What's especially chilling is that many being targeted are here legally, further proving we are in lawless times with an authoritarian regime testing the limits of what it can get away with. At this #freedaniel rally at the federal courthouse in Seattle, the city council's Kshama Sawant warned of plans to mobilize the national guard to conduct sweeps. How is that not martial law? Today they come for "the other," tomorrow it could be you on whatever pretense. Please get active and do what you can to stop this slide into fascism. The life you save could be your own. |  |
