i'm not a fan of composite
decking but here i go again,
2nd job in a row. this wicked
14-foot rip was the last board laid,
complete with a tricky kink to
make the contour perfect. the
longer i do this work, the
more it takes over. it's as if
i've rewired myself to
get a dopamine bump
with every cut. i keep
promising myself time
off to work more on
"art" but like louis
armstrong i'm
afraid to put
down my ax
lest i lose my touch.
