Merry christmas from seattle,
one of the richer cities in the
world's richest country, where
public parks have become
economic refugee camps. the
usa is a cruel place, the only
 industrial nation where a
 single medical emergency
can lead to destitution and
 homelessness. something
in me finally broke this
 week, unable to turn a
 blind eye to ever increasing suffering as we head deeper into crisis. it's a band-aid where a tourniquet is needed, but today we grilled some burgers and distributed wrapped gift packs (socks, handwarmers, cash) to anyone who wanted them. the calories are real, but it's also to let those who've been pushed to the edges know that they are still seen and cared about.
