Rode bikes over locks thronged with holiday weekend tourists, channel jammed with working ships and pleasurecraft, up to Discovery for picnic over Sound, coast down Magnolia to Elliott Bay Trail, cross SW Spokane St. to West Seattle, Alki trail past Miami style strip of sand beach with phalanx of new condos broken only by random tiny house holdout. Southworth & Vashon car ferry we stood abow above hammering diesel pistons like fists beating an oildrum. Six miles uphill into town for tofu tacos and bison burger, took ferry SKAGIT back downtown, rode up First, across Dexter, and finally home, 49.8 miles total. |
