Jack
came over and we
walked downtown. Cities
are made for walking. To
drive not only obliterates
distance, it also erases all
the people in between. Out
of sight is out of mind. Even
on foot it's easy to ignore
the ones who are struggling.
You sort of have to if you
want to get anywhere. To
stop and help takes too long,
hurts too much. Hopeless.
Why take on that suffering?
We went to Martha
Rosler
at The New Foundation:
Housing
Is A Human Right.
It's worth a second look.

Also today, I installed a
cat door. Miso can
now go
in or out at will after a period
of confinement. In or out?
It's nice to have that option.
